Carriere equestri nelle epigrafi di Luna. In margine a un frammento inedito
Abstract ITA Un frammento epigrafico, ritrovato a Luni negli scavi della prima metà degli anni Settanta del Novecento, pur conservando esigue tracce di testo, potrebbe contenere i residui del cursus honorum di un cavaliere, a cui era stato dedicato un monumento onorario. Insignito dell’equus publicus, l’anonimo notabile, vissuto nel I secolo d.C., sembra abbia ricoperto anche la carica sacerdotale di flamen Augusti. Sulla base di questi elementi e di una serie di interessanti corrispondenze, si valuta la possibilità che il frustulo sia parte di un’epigrafe frammentaria rinvenuta da Carlo Promis nel 1837 (CIL XI 1342).
Abstract ENG An epigraphic fragment, unearthed at Luni during excavations conducted in the first half of the 1970s, although preserving only minimal traces of text, may contain the remnants of the cursus honorum of an equestrian to whom an honorary monument had been dedicated. Having been awarded the equus publicus, the anonymous notable, who lived in the 1st century A.D., appears also to have held the priestly office of flamen Augusti. On the basis of these elements and a series of intriguing correspondences, consideration is given to the possibility that the fragment belongs to a fragmentary inscription discovered by Carlo Promis in 1837 (CIL XI 1342).
