Il percorso dell’acqua nella Genova romana
Abstract ITA La complessa storia della città di Genova appare in parte ancora indefinita se riferita all’età romana. I reperti rinvenuti non consentono di tracciare un quadro esaustivo circa l’assetto che la città doveva avere a quel tempo; fra questi emergono le tracce dell’antico acquedotto che percorreva l’intera Valbisagno. Queste tracce, che per secoli hanno caratterizzato i versanti della sponda destra del torrente Bisagno, sono andate quasi completamente perdute nell’ultimo secolo, ma anche grazie ad alcuni recenti ritrovamenti hanno riacceso l’attenzione su questo manufatto di cui si hanno solo notizie frammentarie. L’analisi delle documentazioni scritte e lo studio del territorio con l’aiuto di cartografie storiche e attuali, permette di visualizzare l’antico percorso con l’obiettivo di individuare ulteriori tasselli di questo affascinante mosaico.
Abstract ENG The complex history of the city of Genoa remains partly unclear when it comes to the Roman era. The artifacts found do not allow us to trace a complete picture of what the city must have looked like at that time; among these, traces of the ancient aqueduct that ran through the entire Valbisagno valley stand out. These traces, which for centuries characterized the slopes of the right bank of the Bisagno stream, have been almost completely lost over the last century, but thanks to some recent discoveries, attention has been drawn back to this structure, about which only fragmentary information is available. The analysis of 19th-century texts and the study of the territory based on historical and current maps allow us to visualize the ancient aqueduct with the aim of identifying further pieces of this fascinating mosaic.
